Julio Quintana is a Cuban-American writer-director from Austin, Texas. After studying comparative religion at the University of Texas, Quintana went on to work on The Tree of Life (2011) and To The Wonder (2012) where Quintana developed his unique style under the mentorship of legendary director Terrence Malick. Quintana went on to write and direct his first feature film The Vessel starring Martin Sheen, which Malick executive produced and was released in theaters in 2016.

In 2020 Quintana released his second feature film The Blue Miracle, starting Dennis Quaid and produced by Endeavor Content. On Netflix
